Commitment to Sustainability
Tate & Lyle is accelerating emissions reductions to help customers meet their 2030 targets. In May, they announced ambitious new greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets, to be delivered by 2028, consistent with reductions required to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, the most ambitious goal of the Paris Climate Agreement. Tate & Lyle’s new near-term science-based GHG emissions reduction targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), the corporate climate action organization that rigorously validates companies’ climate targets.
More recently, Tate & Lyle announced a major acceleration in its climate action with the signing of a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) in North America for renewable electricity and renewable energy credits (RECs) with clean energy leader Enel North America. With this PPA supporting other renewable initiatives, 100% of the purchased electricity in Tate & Lyle’s North American operations will now come from renewable sources.
Tate & Lyle invites food scientists, technologists, R&D managers, product developers, industry professionals, and media to visit its booth at the SSW Conference (booth #2745). Attendees can explore their cutting-edge solutions and engage with the team driving innovation in taste, health, and sustainability while discovering the future of food and nutrition firsthand.
