Nestlé Health Science (NHSc) proudly celebrates the five-year anniversary of our Nestlé Product Technology Center (NPTC), a global research and development hub in Bridgewater, New Jersey. Since its inauguration in 2018, the NPTC has been at the forefront of elevating the power of nutrition to make a positive impact.
Over the past five years, the NPTC has served as the lead Product Technology Center for NHSc globally, part of a strong network of R&D centers that drive our mission to empower healthier lives through nutrition. It has allowed the U.S. business to leverage Nestlé’s global research efforts to rapidly translate science and technology into innovative products for consumers, patients, and healthcare professionals.
“We are thrilled to celebrate the five-year anniversary of the Nestlé Product Technology Center and the incredible achievements we have made in advancing nutrition and sustainability,” said Rania Abou Samra, Global Head of Product Technology and Development at Nestlé Health Science and Head of R&D, U.S. “The NPTC is a cutting-edge facility that encompasses the entire science, technology and development lifecycle, from rapid ideation and prototyping to sensory science, technology and product development, and commercialization. This state-of-the-art center has played a pivotal role in driving innovation and meeting consumer and patient needs.”
Driving Innovation and Meeting Consumer and Patient Needs
The NPTC has achieved remarkable milestones in recent years, showcasing our unwavering dedication to meeting the ever-changing demands of individuals seeking effective and delightful ways to enhance their well-being. Notably, as an example of the innovative approaches the Center makes possible, we are leveraging pilot plant capabilities to enable the translation of science and nutrition into innovative products that consumers can enjoy and that fulfill an unmet need for patients.
The NPTC team also continues to drive forward on impactful solutions in the health and wellness space. For example, NHSc recently collaborated with the Gerald J. and Dorothy R. Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University, through its Food & Nutrition Innovation Institute on a joint initiative created to accelerate innovation in longevity and healthy aging. Championing Sustainability
In addition to its focus on innovation, the NPTC is a true champion of sustainability. Earlier this year, the Center achieved Gold-level TRUE (Total Resource and Use Efficiency) certification for zero waste practices. Administered by Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI), TRUE helps facilities measure, improve and recognize zero waste performance by encouraging the adoption of sustainable waste management and reduction practices, which contribute to positive environmental, health and economic outcomes.
