PepsiCo has expanded its Gatorade beverage range with the addition of water. The US-based company described this new offering as “premium” alkaline water, aligning with its goal to offer comprehensive nutrition options through the Gatorade brand.
Gatorade Water, infused with electrolytes, is set to be available in the US during the first quarter of the upcoming year. These beverages are the latest introduction to the Gatorade product lineup, following PepsiCo’s entry into the energy drink category with the launch of Fast Twitch within the past year.
PepsiCo emphasized that their Gatorade portfolio is now the most comprehensive option available in the market, covering energy, hydration, protein, and all-day nutrition. This expansion comes after PepsiCo CEO Ramon Laguarta expressed confidence in Gatorade’s prospects, considering it a crucial brand for the company’s North America beverages division, which experienced a decline in volumes during the second quarter.
Laguarta noted that Gatorade’s performance was improving across various metrics and believed that changes to the brand’s distribution model would enhance its execution and adaptability in response to market dynamics.
Furthermore, PepsiCo’s efforts to diversify its Gatorade product range were yielding positive results. While PepsiCo did not disclose pricing or specific retail listings for Gatorade Water, they stated that the products would be competitively priced.
