The shared vision of the strongly growing and changing (inter)national dairy market is the reason for a more intensive collaboration, involving a participation of 50 percent in the Amalthea group by Ausnutria B.V. This will allow the companies to bundle their innovative strengths, Amalthea will gain access to a broader network and the companies will jointly have a more complete portfolio. The transaction is subject to approval by the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM).
Amalthea and Ausnutria have been working together for some time in the field of the patented microfiltration technique for goat milk. This innovation has led to a progressive position in the goat dairy market, more applications of goat milk thanks to the CleardMilk® formula developed and an optimal value of all individual milk components in semi-finished and finished products.
The product portfolios and geographic positions of both parties are complementary. Amalthea produces and markets semi-hard goat & organic cow cheese. Ausnutria specializes in infant nutrition based on goat’s milk. More intensive cooperation leads to more stability, continuity and greater innovative strength. In addition, the joining of forces enables Amalthea to use the global network of Ausnutria. Ausnutria is thus assured of very high-quality whey, an important ingredient for the production of its infant nutrition products.
Bart van der Meer, CEO of Ausnutria Dairy Corporation Ltd.: “By combining optimal milk production with our joint knowledge, innovations and products, we as Ausnutria are able to seize new opportunities and reach new markets together with Amalthea.”
“The intensified collaboration is in line with our mission to get all the ‘miracles’ out of milk. A logical step that contributes to our striving for a complete valorisation of the milk flows and to increase the flexibility in applications of the milk. The complete utilization of all milk components is also important for the realization of Amalthea’s sustainability agenda. At the same time, this collaboration offers our cooperative, suppliers and customers further growth opportunities,” said Joop de Groot, CEO Amalthea-group.
