377 food manufacturers and suppliers presented their products in 15 sectors of the exhibition, covering all product categories.
This year, for objective reasons, WorldFood Moscow exhibition was mainly an exposition of companies from Moscow and the regions of Russia. The regions were represented by 30 collective expositions. Mordovia participated in the exhibition for the first time: “Tut myaso” presented Halal meat products – raw-dried sausages and canned stew, “Mordovskiye Penkozavody” brought to the exhibition products of deep processing of hemp under the Feel right brand.
Foreign participants were represented at the exhibition by companies from 10 countries: Azerbaijan, Greece, Kyrgyzstan, China, Lithuania, Moldova, Turkey, Uzbekistan, France. The collective stand of Azerbaijan became the most widely represented national pavilion – 30 companies presented their products at the exhibition this year.
In 2020, WorldFood Moscow for the first time received foreign support from the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Fund.
Along with this, the exhibition was traditionally supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the State Duma, the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Rosselkhoznadzor.
Participation in WorldFood Moscow exhibition in September is an opportunity for manufacturers to present their products before the start of increased demand on the eve of the winter and spring holidays. Every year, exhibitors present new products in the confectionery sector, in the healthy food, grocery, dairy and other sectors of the exhibition. This year was no exception: more than 500 new products were presented at WorldFood Moscow 2020.
WorldFood Moscow 2020 became the first offline food industry event after a period of restrictions. A long period of uncertainty, changes in consumer demand caused increased interest in the exhibition from visitors – 12,799 specialists visited the exhibition. At the same time, the density of visitors (number per square meter) increased by more than 2.5 times and amounted to 3.7 (compared to 1.4 in 2019).
The quality of visitors has also increased: 42% (5,376) of visitors are heads of companies and their deputies, and 79% (10,111) are decision-makers on purchases.
Every year the exhibition is visited by buyers from wholesale and retail chains, as well as representatives of the HoReCa segment, who are interested in finding new suppliers – 73% (9 343) of visitors come to the exhibition to find new manufacturers and receive industry information. At the same time, the audience of buyers is updated from year to year – 41% (5,278) of visitors in 2020 came to the exhibition for the first time.
In 2021, WorldFood Moscow will be held on September 21-24 at Crocus Expo.
