Getting prepared to celebrate its 20th anniversary Yummy Meyve Sulari (Fruit Juices) has been planning to export 30 million beverages in 2015.
Established in 1994 and continued its activities since 1995, Yummy Fruit Juices Company will celebrate its 20th anniversary in the sector next year. Producing fruit juices as peach, apricot, cherry, mango, pineapple, orange, etc., and soda drinks, Yummy has real big targets for the future. Mr. Bekir Öder, Export Manager of Yummy unveiled their target of exporting 30 million liters of drinks in 2015. An exclusive interview with Mr. Öder follows:
Could you please briefly talk about yourself?
My name is Bekir Öder. I graduated from Sabanci University Management Faculty and then got the degree of Professional MBA from Mersin University. I have been managing Export Departmant for the last 3 years at Yummy Meyve Suları.
Since When have you been operating as Yummy Fruit Juices?
Yummy was established in 1994 and started its operations in 1995. We will celebrate our 20. Year in 2015.
Could you give information us about your production facilities and technology?
Our factory has been working with top Technologies. Wherever the technology goes, we are there. Inside the factory, we have clear concentrate lines, aseptic puree lines, fruit juice filling lines, carbonated drinks filling lines.
The terms “quality” and “healthy” are the crucial elements of company’s success; in the road to this success, we as Yummy Fruit Juice Co Inc are producing all of our products with ISO 9001:2000 Quality and ISO 22000 HACCP certificates. Our target is to develop methods that reduces resource consumption and implements them, to target acquisition and re-use.
Could you talk about your product range?
In 2014 we added mango and pineapple juice in our production portfolio. In the coming years we aim to study on new products. Currently our main flavors are peach, apricot, cherry, mango, pineapple, orange, cocktail, grape, apple which we produce them under the categories of fruit juices, nectars, fruit drinks, flavored drinks and carbonated drinks.
You are one of the leading company in Turkey about fruit juice. Could you give information to us about your market share and company’s position in Turkey?
Our best-selling category is flavored drinks, which we dominate the market with around 21% market share of that category.
At the moment, which markets do you export world wide? Do you have new focused markets? What are your export goals?
We are exporting our products to 34 countries in every continent. In our latest strategies, we aim for Middle east and Africa on the top. Our expectations and targets for the year of 2015 is to export 30.000.000 liter of drink to all over the world.
What do you think about Fruit juice consumption and promotion studies?
According to developed countries, consumption is below the average and it is very slowly increasing. In these days, the advertisement campaigns from Europe aim to raise awareness of consumption of fruit juice. Turkey is also becoming and important market in juice sector which we have about 12 liters consumption per person yearly. It is still very below of world average but for the past years of Turkish market, this number is quite okay.
