Hosted by Banvit, 250 dieticians met in Istanbul on the world dietician’s day to discuss about healthier and more dependable ways of chicken production. In his inauguration speech, Omer Gorener, chairman of Banvit, called for dieticians to use antibiotics wisely. Special presentations on quality assurance systems and about broiler cultivation and breeding were held. lgi Gorener, communication director of the company, genetic professor in Uludag university Prof. Dr. Faruk Balci, Cigdem Kizilay Karaoglu, quality assurance director and food engineer, have also gave presentations in the meeting.
Omer Gorener said, “Missions of dieticians and our mission is almost the same, focusing on healthy nutrition. They show the way for healthier consumption of broiler while we produce healthier products. Sometimes, speculative disclosures that have no scientific content cause a chaos of impressions. White meat is a valuable source for healthier, more economic and dependable food products. Baseless information circulated freely in the media can lead masses to overlook the real value of broilers. We organized this meeting to provide true information about the production and consumption of poultry products. In future, we will host dieticians at our facilities in Bandirma.”
