In 2014 it will once again be the international meeting place for the confectionery and snack items trade: the 44th ISM (international trade fair for sweets and snacks) in Cologne from 26 to 29 January 2014.
Every year around 1,400 suppliers from 70 countries participate in the trade fair. It is the most important information and business platform for the sector, attracting a top-class trade public of about 35,000 buyers from some 150 countries to Cologne. With good registration figures in all segments and the return of well-known companies, the upcoming ISM looks certain to be a big domestic and international success.
ISM is conceived as an international platform for suppliers and bulk buyers in the sweets and snacks industry. Its two basic principles are: restriction of products to the relevant items visitors; restricted to wholesalers and major buyers.
German confectionery and snack item producers will again take full advantage of ISM as a strong marketing tool. Many well-known German companies such as Gubor, Hachez, Halloren, Intersnack, Katjes, Krüger, Lambertz, The Lorenz Bahlsen Snack-World, Mederer, Niederegger, Ragolds, Rausch, Rübezahl Schokoladen, Ültje, Zentis and Haribo – to name just a few – are among the around 250 German companies that will present their attractive products and innovations at ISM 2014.
As the world’s leading fair for trade in the confectionery and snack items sector, ISM presents a comprehensive product range of confectionery and snack items in the following product groups: chocolate, sugar confectionery, fine baked goods, snack products, ice cream and raw pastes. Only end products intended for retail sale are on show.
ISM is open exclusively to trade visitors from the wholesale and retail trades on all four days.

Brazil will be the partner country of the 44th International Sweets and Biscuits Fair (ISM), which will take place from 26 to 29 January 2014 in Cologne. This will be the first time that the spotlight will focus on a South American country. With nearly 200 million inhabitants, Brazil is an attractive emerging sales market for confectionery and snack items. In addition, it has an attractive and powerful confectionery sector of its own. At ISM, Brazil will demonstrate its expertise in the production, processing and marketing of innovative and export-oriented products. The partner country’s activities will be designed by the Brazilian Chocolate, Cocoa, Peanuts, Candies and Byproducts Industry Association (ABICAB). The country’s key point of contact will be the Brazilian pavilion in Hall 5.2. Following Turkey, Belgium and Russia, Brazil will be the fourth partner country of the world’s most important trade fair for confectionery and snack items.
