ANUGA 2013 was very satisfactory from our side. We had many visitors from all over the world and this year visitors from Far East (Japan, China, Taiwan) and visitors from South America (Argentina and Brazil) were interesting for us. The product is prepared in 250 gr.
Bulgur’s awareness is very low in the world, therefore in order to introduce it to the visitors, we prefer to cook different bulgurs with different flavors to show them the taste and to show them how it was easy to cook. Our cooking shows aroused interest inthe visitors. Especially the taste aroused a lot interest in the product even though the visitors do not have the bulgur idea in their mind.

How do you foresee the Turkish food industry in the future?
Turkey’s food industry has been one of the most attractive areas for foreign investors. It has attracted tremendous amount of foreign direct investment attracting around USD 4 billion over the past ten years, as it offers lucrative investment opportunities to global investors. The industry also has the highest share in household consumption in Turkey. The strengths of the industry include the size of the market in relation to the country’s young population, a dynamic private sector economy,
Turkey’ sfood industry has registered a steady growth in recent years, with the Turkish consumers becoming increasingly demanding, driven by the multitude of choices offered by mass grocery retail outlets. Rising disposable income and changing consumption patterns, along with the increase in the number of females in full-time employment, have all led to an increase in interest as regards packaged and processed food, such as ready-to-eat meals, frozen food and pasta.
As the sector is getting more sophisticated. Turkey is becoming one of the biggest exporters for pasta – an important element of the Turkish food. The present production facilities of the pasta producer companies equipped with modern high-temperature lines are located mainly in Southeastern, Central and Western Anatolia, which are the major durum wheat producing regions in Turkey.
Finally, what I am always saying is that; the Turkish food industry is on the runway to take off….
