BANU ER, EXPORT MANAGER OF TARIS:
We, as Taris Fig Union, presented our new logotype and new design packages during SIAL Paris 2012. Renewal of our corporate image is developed awareness in the mind of target customers and helped us reaching target of increasing our exports with our own brand. We brought up our differences within dried fruit sector by our investment on our brand image. We believe that 2013 is going to be a fruitful year for the companies which are invested on their brand.
MEHMET GOCMEZ, GOCMEZ FOOD:
SIAL Paris 2012 was quite good for our company. Although the number of visitors was below last years, the quality of visitors was satisfactory. These type of fairs become meeting points for us to meet with our customers scattered over 55 countries and an opportunity for us to find new markets.
I believe that 2013 will be a golden year for the Turkish food industry. This is even more so for the agricultural products which are named with Turkey such as dry apricot, dry fıg, hazelnut and sultana raisins which were very plenty and found more buyers from foreign countries because of lower prices. This positive case will find new markets and develop further next year.
ERKAN GEYIK, PAK AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS:
SIAL Paris 2012 Food Trade Show was really nice and fruitful fairfor our company. We had a great opportunity to introduce our company and new product range. It was a delightfull meeting with our supporters and friends all over the world during this short period of time and share market developments.
We saw good interest to Turkish food products during the fair. There were many visitors visiting Turkish Pavilion. Although there is economic crises in the world this great interest to the Turkish foods gave us hope that the Turkish food sector will grow in 2013. We estimate that Turkish food sector, especially the exports, will grow in 2013, if Turkish food producers, packers and exporters improve the packing system and make intensive promotion.
MEHMET CEVIK, SALES AND MARKETING MANAGER, CEVIK FOOD:
For us Sial Paris 2012 was fruitful. We have an opportunity to get to know some companies coming from Dubai, China and South Africa and other parts of the world. The year 2013 seem more promising for the industry, because Turkish companies began to expand their market portfolios. However, we have to emphasize on branding efforts. While having a 70 percent share in world’s dried fig market, we have not any national brand for fıg. Our company aims to expand its product portfolio as well as its markets.”
NESET KECECIOGULLARI, SALES AND MARKETING MANAGER, K.F.C. FOOD :
This year Sial was more active. We expect even more growth for the industry in 2013.”
TULAY MERTER, REGIONAL SALES MANAGER, PAK EXPORTS:
SIAL is an important fair for our company. We always participate in this biennial fair. It is very important for us to meet with our existing customers and prospective ones. We welcomed visitors from Africa, Middle East and Far East in addition to European countries. It was really a successful fair. I believe that we will get the benefıts of this fair in 2013, too.
TOROS CELIKER, EXPORT DIRECTOR, BANVIT:
We participated in the fair for the first time and it was productive as we expected. Although we, the Turkish poultry sector, have no exports to EU, Middle Eastern and African buyers show great interest in Sial Paris. Another factor was the visitors’ profile was all professionals. We are planning to attend all future editions of Sial from now on.
We foresee that the demand in domestic market will be narrowed in line with the slowdown of economic growth. But because of its advantageous nature, I think that the food sector will get minimum affect in general and the exports of the poultry industry to close countries will increase in particular. If the demand shrinking occurs below our estimation, 2013 could be a good year for our sector.
GURAY GULMUS, EXPORT SALES MANAGER, CAGLA CHOCOLATE:
Our company CAGLA is very young but one of the fast growing Turkish chocolate manufacturers. We exhibited our luxury chocolate range at SIAL Food fair. The main interest in our products came from European importers and distributors although there is an economic crisis in Europe.
Turkey is the new trend because the image of Turkey and Turkish products are getting better. AH Turkish manufacturers are improving their quality with innovations and get benefit of the new trend.
AYBIKE AKKAYA, SIBAS FOOD:
2012 SIAL Food Show was very efficient and intensive for our company. Last season was passed very hard because of the raw material problem. But this season the crop was good and we made all our contracts which cover approximately all raw materials in our stocks. So, that we believe that the market will be more intensive for Turkey and for the world.
SENER DEDE, GSK FOOD:
Sial 2012 performed very good for our company. We were fully satisfıed. I believe that 2013 will be a bright, positive year for the Turkish food sector.
HATICE GUNDOGDU, HLEKS FOOD:
The booth of Hleks attracted a great interest and we made over 200 meetings. All European and North African countries that wanted to buy packed popping candy, visited our stand. We believe that most of those meetings will be resulted with contract in a short time and we will increase our sales in 2013.
Turkish companies have developed as much as European ones and they have very promising future. These positive developments will make the Turkish food industry stronger and will increase our 2013 export capacity. It is clear that 2013 will be a productive year for the Turkish food sector.
SIBEL KARTELLI, SELCUK FOOD:
Although the number of visitors seemed to be less than previous years, the fair hit the target. We had an opportunity to meet a lot of customers and we established excellent relations. We have already signed contracts with three of the contacts we had made at the fair. We are continuing the others closely.
I believe that Turkey’s food exports will increase in 2013 because Turkish companies made big progress by participating in fairs held in two giant markets such as China and Japan. I think they will rape the fruits of those contacts in 2013.
