Led by ICOC, Turkey’s ever-biggest exposure with 256 companies flashed in Paris.
The mother of worldwide Sials, Paris SIAL was held from 21 to 25 October at the Paredes Expositions de Paris-Nord Villepinte convention center. The organizers say that attendance rose by 10.2% compared to 2010, confirming SIAL’s role as a catalyst for global trade with 150,192 professional visitors (versus 136,381 in 2010), of whom 62.8% were international visitors from 200 countries. One of the most flashing positive things this year was Turkey’s case at the fair. Led by Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, 256 Turkish food exporters made efficient exposure at this important gathering of the world food sector. The fair ground hosted around 5900 exhibitors.
The next SIAL Paris will be held, 19-23 October 2014.
SIAL connection also means SIAL worldwide. The forthcoming exhibitions are:
SIAL Abu Dhabi, 26 to 28 November 2012
SIAL Toronto, 30 April to 2 May 2013
SIAL Shanghai, 7 to 9 May 2013
SIAL Sâo Paulo, 25 to 28 June 201
SIAL Montreal, 2 to 4 April 2014
Food Turkey, the young magazine of the Turkish food industry attended the fair with a professional team and distributed 3 thousand copies during 5-day exhibition. While the distributing people were busy in every hail, the editors were taking photos and talking with offıcials of Turkish exhibiting companies. Around 70 people were interviewed and over 90% were satisfied. The most eye-catching critic was about the bad coincidence of the fair with the religious festival of the Islamic world.
That cut the visitor flood considerably and made the worst affect on the fair. Some of the commentators reasoned the crisis and a few mentioned minor critics but majority admitted the great functionality of the fair as number one in the world.
